Child Labor

Have you seen Child Labors?? (i’m askin’ you comrade)

For God sake does not say “Who knows and who cares”. You have seen them.

What would be your reaction on seeing them working??

Nothing. I’m sure nothing. Am I correct?? Your answer is “umm… uha… I mean… like… to be honest… you know… (A long pause) YES”. I knew it, and so as you.

The truth is, though seeing them you wouldn’t have realized that they are child labors. This time I’m not going to ask you if I’m correct because I know that I’m right.

Why people don’t realize??

That’s because, they are going to affect them in no way. This is what I call it as selflessness (So kind of them :D). This is what has made people nothing about them. I tell you what? People have lost their senses. Probably that’s the reason why they are leading a life like this (sloppy life). Poor they. Mind you, He (GOD) is seeing us. There is no escape from his eyes. I’m happy in that way as a minimum. Not now, but at least later they will be punished.

Have we ever engaged you with a Child Worker??

(I mean, do we have any relation with them?)

Trying to say no? (I mean, trying to say lie? :D) Ha ha… never do it my friend.

For a while, think of few children which whom you have seen last, who was working. May be in some small restaurants, mechanic shops, beach, park, road side seller etc., you might of dealt with them.

Yes?? If yes, oh my friend you have committed a sin/crime

No?? (If you say like, “hare… NO yaar, I jus saw them working. My good time I din buy anything from them. Gosh… am fortunate… I din commit a sin…bla bla bla…”) this is what I call as Escapism. And as a matter of fact, doing so, you had done the biggest/largest/deepest/shallowest/highest (and what ever left over ‘est’ is there in the grammar book) crime/sin of all time.

(The reader says) Fine I realized my fault. Now what is that you want me to do??

(I say) Oh thank you comrade. Nice of you/Kind of you/sweet of you (and what ever you feeling like adding…J).

And then what did you ask me? (Now what is that you want me to do??)

Was I telling you about rocket science (to give you more tips and advice)?

You know what to do. Then what is that you are waiting for?

String a=null;

if(a.equal(“I realized”)){

System.out.println(“You know what to do. Do it. J”);

else if(a.equal(“I din’t get you”)){

System.out.prinltn(“Kindly go through the page once again. Thank you. J”);

System.out.prinltn(“umm... uha... I mean... like… to be honest... you know… (A long pause) I really don’t know what to say L”);

Disclaimer: If you are a sort of person who cares for the society and if you feel that you are a social activist and if you are against the evils that are happening in our society, then “YOU” in this page doesn’t really point you. J Thank you.

  1. hello hi da its me your sis chumma pinnita po

  2. hi ashwath,

    Its good to see u writting on social issues in a fantastic way.i congradulate you for that .It will be better if you end the problem with a solution rather than a question.I think, it will be best if you give some tips to ‘right the wrong’, for the readers.

    by your well wisher

  3. Aswath(Kutti Chathaan),

  4. Hi chottu,

    nice article da. it will be fine if u end it with a solution.

    good effort, keep it up chottu boy

  5. Hi aswath..

    Good article. Keep going…

  6. Hi Aswath,

    It was very nice to read your views on the topic. Child Labour is indeed a terrible crime but in our poor country it seems to be near impossible to get rid of. But with people like you raising awareness and taking steps, someday it might totally disappear.

    Good work and keep it up.

    Thanks for sending me the link.
    Warm regards,

  7. Thank you mam. I’m pleased.

    Expecting that ‘someday’ to come as soon as possible. Thank you…

  8. Nice attempt….

    I’d rather appreciate it being more inclined towards forced child labour though….!

  9. Boy! Must I say this is a new dimension of the little boy I used to know…Congrats Chottu!

    Its really nice to see youngs lads like you having social consciousness. I am fully with you in the topic that you have raised. As you said, existing in a society of this kind itself is a shame…But honestly, only if every individual think it that way, would this real issue come to a standstill.

    The basic is need for education. School education to one & all which will (as someone quoted) stop the forced child labour.

    Every child must pursue education in order to do better jobs of what their parents are doing. After all, we do not want to see a house-maids’ daughter becoming a baby sitter in the same house, nor we want to see the street-corner shop keeper’s son becoming a vegetable vendor in the same street!

    Things will change with people’s thinking…and lets hope for a better tomorrow!

    Think more, write more! All the best da..

  10. freddie- long time no “see”. hope you are well. it pleases me very much to see you writing about these topics!

    you are so right about our willful denial of seeing terrible things, because if we acknowledge them, we are compelled to do something- and that usually requires selflessness & sacrifice..

    i will reiterate that we all do this, and it is simply a matter of trying our hardest to reduce it!

  11. Freddie, I completely agree. Child labour, especially in places like India is just so visible, yet no one thinks twice to help them. I think society’s come a long way, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s a good thing. I feel like people today seem to be even more ignorant and just in competition with one another to see who can make the most money and waste it all on things they don’t need to live.
    Great post, man. Good on you. 🙂

  12. wil u tel me where to cal if we see a forced child labour
